How does our body react when we are worried?
Thousands of years ago, our ancestors did not even know what stress was. Because they lived in caves and led a very simple life, except that sometimes they had to deal with an animal stronger than them. According to the law of the jungle, every strong thing eats the weaker one. So those animals also attacked humans. Now they had only two options. Fight them or run fast to save their lives, reach their cave, and breathe a sigh of relief.
In both cases, their bodies needed more power and speed. Their bodies learned from nature that they had to provide more energy to survive. Their hearts would start beating faster at such times. Blood pressure would increase. Their muscles would tense up. Those who failed at this occasion would become part of the food of animals, and those who succeeded would be ready for a similar occasion the next day. One of the things that we do not see at such an occasion is that our liver starts making more glucose and provides more fats to the body so that there is an immediate increase in strength.
The blood becomes thick, and if they get a wound, it immediately clots the blood and prevents it from leaking. With the passage of centuries, these things have now become the nature of our bodies, and whenever we face any stress, danger, or any problem, our bodies react in the same way. In case of any worry and danger, our body does the following.
- Our heart rate increases. That is, the heart beat accelerates.
- Our blood pressure increases.
- Except for the muscles, the rest of the veins become narrow.
- The blood supply to our muscles increases.
- Our muscles become tense.
- Our blood sugar and fat levels increase.
- The blood thickens. And there are more chances of clots forming in it.
If someone has heart disease, then when all this happens in his body, he will need more oxygen, due to which he will feel the pain of angina. The chances of clot formation in the blood increase. Therefore, if a clot forms in the blood, a heart attack can also occur. And the hormone responsible for all these factors in the body is Adrenalin, an increase in which becomes a precursor to this situation.
When do we experience stress?
On different occasions, we come across different types of stress. These occasions are not always negative, but sometimes they are positive too, like when you are getting married. When a baby is about to be born at home, or you are taking a trip somewhere far away, your mind is stressed. Here we will mention such occasions that usually cause stress to a person, so that you can control these occasions and reduce the intensity of stress.
- The death of a close relative or friend, or contracting a dangerous disease.
- A married man and woman are on the occasion of divorce.
- In a state of illness.
- On losing a job or a mess in business.
- On losing a job or losing a business.
- The cause of Sexual Problems.
- On the occasion of your own or your children’s marriage.
- When a woman becomes pregnant.
- Due to poor financial conditions.
There can be numerous causes of stress. We have mentioned a few of them.
How to Manage Stress.
First of all, remember that the problems we face are not called stress or they do not directly stress our body, but the reaction we make to the problem or the reaction our mind shows causes stress. That is, stress occurs in our body in an indirect way. Now we will discuss one by one the things through which we can manage stress in a better way.
- Recognize the problems in time. For example, if your children are getting married, then you should think about all the arrangements in advance and make them on time. The closer the wedding day comes, the more intense your worries will be.
- Identify the reasons for your worries. For example, your expenses are not being met. So see what the reasons are. Reduce your phone and gas bills. Reduce unnecessary expenses. Think about increasing your income.
- Try to avoid things that can cause you problems. As I mentioned earlier, thousands of years ago, our ancestors used to run away from animals that were bigger than them and could not compete with them. They did not try to compete with them intentionally, which was not beneficial but harmful, so they ran away and avoided further problems.
- Organize important matters. This way, you will be able to cope with problems better. For example, transporters have formed a union, or workers have a trade union. If there is any action against them, they fight together and thus control their problems.
- Remember your Priorities. You should know how important something is to you. Think about it because of its importance. Don’t worry about every little thing.
- Don’t worry about things that can be replaced. If you miss one bus, it’s okay, another one will come.
- Don’t have high expectations from others. You can do whatever you want for yourself, but every person has a different mindset. You may be thinking that a certain person will come to receive you at the airport, but he may have some other compulsion and may not be able to come, so don’t have high expectations. So, when an expectation is not fulfilled, you will not be disappointed and sad.
- Keep good friends, but it is better to have no friends than to have bad friends. It is better to have no friends.
- Go out for a walk or go to meet family friends so that your attention is elsewhere.
These were some important issues. Every human being is endowed with self-awareness and intelligence; they should find a solution to their problems. In this way, a person can deal with their problems in a better way. Although worrying can increase the problem, it does not reduce it, so stop worrying and find a solution to the problem.
An English book has written about Stress that Stress is like a stone rolling down a mountain. As it moves forward, its speed will also increase. Similarly, try to eliminate Stress; it will increase more and more.
Ways to reduce stress.
So far, we have understood ways to manage stress; now, we will discuss ways to reduce stress. These two factors are different but are connected to each other and often get mixed up.
Meditation.
One thing is mentioned repeatedly in books, namely Meditation. It is practiced in India, and later it became popular in Europe, etc. In this, one sits in a closed room, forgets everything, and focuses all one’s attention on a single point or sound, such as the sound of one’s heart or the sound of one’s breath, etc. Due to which one forgets all sorrows and worries, and one gets mental peace. You can also adopt this method.
Yoga.
This word is from Sanskrit and is made up of Yoke and Union. This means to unite the mind and body. It contains various exercises. By doing so, mental stress is reduced. And a person becomes mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy. A very famous violinist fell ill. He could no longer play the violin. He underwent many treatments but could not recover. Then he started yoga exercises, he became completely well, and people started enjoying his violin again.
Tai Chi Chuan.
This is a Chinese art that Chinese monks do and also train others in. In this, too, the mind, body, and soul are united. It has exercises in the style of martial arts. Through which control over the body, heart, and soul is achieved, and this creates immense confidence in the person. Even if a lion is seen, he is ready to catch it and ride it.
